digital portfolio of Lizanne Aponte, Freelance Copyriter & Strategic Idea Planner
  • I’ve been described as “an unusual kind of creative", mostly because in my thinking process, creativity and strategy harmoniously coexist.

  • I discovered advertising at 13 but took the long road into the profession: finished a BA in Marketing, started a Masters in Arts of Communication & walked myself into the industry through jobs in retail, public relations and finally, advertising.

  • With over 15 years of combined experience in advertising, strategic planning and publishing, I've learned that having a multidisciplinary background is a great asset for clients facing current financial challenges.

  • I have worked for local and multinational agencies (i.e. Grey Worldwide, Leo Burnett & Arteaga & Arteaga); with domestic and global brands (i.e. Banco Popular & McDonald's). Also, I've developed creativity and strategic plans for PR, Caribbean and LATAM markets (i.e. Heineken & Procter & Gamble).

  • My main professional focus is copywriting in Spanish & English, but strategic idea planning is a non-stop process running in my mind 24/7.

About
ABOUT ME
  • My thinking process can be described as kaleidoscopic thinking, meaning that I intuitively look at the problem from every angle to find possibilities, patterns, clusters, and connections to generate ideas.

  • As a copywriter I try to use consumer, product, category and market intelligence as main sources of inspiration.

  • As a strategic idea planner I try to find how the consumer wants to feel; when and where they are willing to talk about it; and what can we say or do to convince them.

  • I believe I've been blessed with a mind that runs like a dual processor, capable of processing both, strategy and creativity. Strategy is the fuel that ignites creativity and keeps it flowing. Creativity, on the other hand is the magic touch that makes every idea memorable and unique for the brand.
MY PROCESS
Pickmybrain-pr.com  is a digital version of my resume and portfolio, created to help you figure out if my capabilities fit your needs. It is NOT an agency, a store or a company of any kind.

  • The name was inspired by clients, colleagues and friends that for a long time, have approached me to “pick my brain” on a variety of subjects.

  • It's been an honor to be their “go-to girl” for guidance or inspiration. I've also enjoyed the process and the results.

  • I chose the pickmybrain-pr.com to name my digital portfolio to let you know that you too can hire an unbiased fresh mind to debrief, brainstorm or find direction. You can have your own "pick my brain sessions".
